Lone Star Ag Credit Participates in Pizza Ranch

Pizza RanchFort Worth, Texas - Lone Star, ACA (Lone Star Ag Credit), the premier ag-lender in Texas, sponsored the Tarrant County Extension Services’ Annual Pizza Ranch held May 6th and 7th at the John Justin Arena in Fort Worth.  Several Lone Star Ag Credit employees volunteered at the 2 day event that educated urban children from the 4th and 5th grades on how agriculture plays a key role in making a pizza.

During the event, volunteers taught students about the different ingredients that go into a pizza and how it relates to agriculture.  These ingredients included pigs for pepperoni, dairy cows for cheese, tomato and pepper gardens for the sauce, wheat for the crust, as well as a variety of herbs and spices which are all essential to make a delicious pizza everyone will enjoy.

“Many urban children do not know where different products come from except that they come from the store,” says Daron Gates, CEO of Lone Star Ag Credit. “This is an educational program that helps inform urban children of a way of life they know very little about.”
